Chantola recently delivered his superb artist album ‘Lost In Funny Space Games’ which is being very well received from many quarters and which is no surprise when you have gems like ‘It’s Not What You Say’. This track has been plucked from the album and been subjected to a host of top quality remixes, no less than six remixes in total from top class artists will no doubt get any floor shakin’!

First up is the Original Mix which intros with a beefy kick and some well clipped hats giving that classic house flavour. A strong, throbbing bass sits on the offbeat and adds a huge depth to the sound. Stunning vocals come through and are the perfect companion for a mesmerizing synth pad lurking in the background. The track transforms itself throughout, building the layers beautifully and ending up with fine slice of progressive house. Definitely not to be missed this one, get it into those playlists quick!

Crocy is first at hand to offer his remix skills and what a job he does here. Crocy’s remix takes on a very smooth and subtle groove, the kicks give off a cool laidback feel with a big punch and sit so well with the expertly crafted bass riffs. The vocal comes through beautifully here adding a richness to the sound and is accompanied by some nice, distant melodies thanks to a lovely piano sound. Wonderfully deep vibes here and a definite must for those late night sets. For those who would like to leave the vocal behind we also have an instrumental mix from Crocy.

Koen Mertens aka Daddy is up next with his remix. Right from the off we are met with a huge in your face sound as a deep drone blasts out alongside a cool percussion pattern. The kicks soon follow as that drone powers on relentlessly. The vocal comes through with a very cool transformation thanks to some nifty FX work which puts it right at home alongside this monster groove. On the main break the groove simmers down with a cool arp and the vocal before slamming back with an added synth riff that is really gonna rock those floors for sure.

Audio Noir is up next with his Rekonstruction. As usual we are treated to a solid progressive house workout which intros with a rhythmic percussion and a very cool melodic sequence. The kicks fade in very discreetly and bring with them a very powerful thump and are soon joined by a great vocal. The track really sets off on an epic ride with the deep rooted bass being the driving force. As the groove progresses we get a hint of a classic synth stab that teases as it lurks in the background. The track breaks to reveal a little more on those stabs before the bass takes over and we are thrust back into the main groove, wonderful stuff yet again out of Australia.

Next up we have deepAlexander on the remix and he churns out a very cool slice indeed. Soft kicks are met with a tough well rounded bass that plucks away giving off a strong vibe as a synth note drones out in the back. The vocal is used brilliantly and sits behind the sound just enough to be very effective. The subtle percussions add smooth rhythms and are the perfect accompaniment to this quite minimal groove. Top stuff!

Lastly we have the Extended Zen Mix which is a fantastic journey through the ambient side of this track. Warm and melodic pads are the order of the day and these are joined with the now recognisable vocal which is a nice partnership. A cool synth arp comes through as a mighty crash introduces each section. Smooth deep basses fade up and take over the sound before kicks blast through making this a perfect piece for an intro in any set.
