We continue our 25th year celebrations with another classic remixed in contemporary style. This time around Matan Caspi gets to grips with Tiesto’s 1996 cut The Tube which first appeared on our XTC imprint back in the day. Tiesto aka Tijs Verwest really needs no introduction, he’s achieved global success in the last 20 years playing in massive arenas to sold out concerts as well as unleashing a torrent of music in that time. His early days stretch right back to 1990 and he is the man behind a multitude of aliases which littered the early 90’s with some memorable moments. He first appeared for us on Bonzai Jumps with Glycerine – 666 in 1995 which also led to contributions on other BJ cuts. His first release as DJ Tiesto was this one which came around the same time as his other Bonzai Jumps releases – Second Game and When I was A Sperm – under his Tom Ace and TB X-Press (with Bjorn Wendelen aka DJ Ghost) monikers respectively. Matan Caspi takes to the helm on the remix and yet again he impresses with his attention to dishing out pure quality progressive house. Based in Tel Aviv he remains undoubtedly one of the most productive electronic music producers under the spotlight. He has been constantly developing his music productions and his work has been internationally exposed and played by many artists and top DJis around the globe. Over the years he has amassed 15 original cuts with us at Bonzai HQ as well as a ton of remixes and appearances on many compilations. He’s also a regular visitor to our Bonzai Basik Beats radioshow where he delivers tight mixes at every turn. He runs the label Outta Limits together with his good friend and production partner Stan Kolev and is always busy with touring and concentrating on his future productions, where you will find original, raw and innovative material.
RPO aka Rick Pier O’Neil joins forces for the first time with Bonzai Progressive stalwart Manu Riga on the sublime Terra Veteris which also features stunning vocals from Mandy Jones on the track Still Alone. French native Rick started DJing at just 14 years old, at 16 he already became a sound engineer and built his first home studio. He quickly gained a reputation as a talented artist and travelled to the US where he became embedded into the music scene there. He set up two record labels, Pro Records and Garbage Records and tracks from these labels have been hammered by top jocks all over the world. We’ve seen several hugely impressive remixes from him on BP over the last few years and no doubt we’ll be seeing much more. Manu Riga remains a much revered artist at BP, he’s contributed so many wonderful gems over the last 7 years and he doesn’t seem to be letting up just yet. He never fails to deliver on the quality front and he recently ventured into a new style for his music with excellent results. His last outing was on remix duties for Brlee – This Is The Place which followed the amazing Your Silent Cries which grabbed a lot of attention. Mandy Jones returns with her sultry tones and delicate inflexions to provide the vocals on Still Alone. She worked with Manu Riga on Disconnected and brought a whole new dynamic to the progressive sound, nice to see her back once again. Three top notch artists at the peak of their game.
London based artist Musicoleptik debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the sublime Zenit. Born into a musical environment he immediately started gaining experience. Originally playing the guitar and the bass in bands, he eventually took a turn towards the technical aspects of the industry with a focus on music production. After years of being involved in the dance scene and a number of releases under his belt, he decided to start a new project, which will allow him to explore a different approach to making music. His musical roots spread far and wide with some serious bangers across multiple genres. More recently he has favoured the deeper, soulful side of house music while maintaining a presence in other styles. His last cut for us here at Piston was a fantastic remix on Demarkus Lewis – Sing It which grabbed a lot of attention. Much more to come from this outstandingly talented artist, stay tuned.

James Brucke – Just Like That, out this week on Piston Recordings, is featured by Beatport in the House genre page!
Just Like That sets out with one thing in mind, to get the booty’s on the floors. Nice and punchy kick drums alongside a shuffling hi hat and percussion arrangement will certainly see to that. The track simply oozes a pure house vibe courtesy of a scathing chord stab that dominates the groove. On the low end we find a sublime subby bass that adds a wonderful deep layer to the track. Excellent stuff that will not disappoint.
Legendary DJ and producer Phi Phi digs out two of his floorfillers for the remix treatment, and we couldn’t be more happier with the results. The tracks in focus are the 2016 smasher Breaking Danger and the impressive Hiccup from 2015. Helping Philippe at the mixing desk is his long time studio partner Roddy Reynaert and yet again these two musical geniuses come up with the goods.
Köschk aka Vince Aoun heads up our next Bonzai Progressive cut with the superb Levi’s. We last got a taste of this guys wonderful talent with his sublime remix on Stan Kolev’s Unravel Me back in May 2017. Lebanese DJ and producer Vince Aoun has been around the scene since 2010, when he started his online radio show Catalepsy, which ran for 5 years. Over those years, he grabbed the attention of many top jocks like Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, and Paul Oakenfold and his tracks appeared on many labels around the globe, until Cygnus got a notable release on PVD’s Vandit Records. He then decided to explore new horizons with his sound by debuting on BP in November 2015, with his fantastic track Lilium. In 2016 he started Koschk and debuted on BP with Diwan to a great reception.

Buenos Aires based DJ and producer Max Biocca debuts on Piston with Calvin Is Back, a pumping two track tech house joint that will rock the floors, no doubt. In the last couple of years Max has seen several releases on labels including Beatamin Recordings and Balkan Connection Tech. His production style delivers quality vibes with every release and we’re delighted to have him on board at Piston.
Rick Pier O’Neil returns to BP with another fine remix that is sure to become a firm favourite. We last caught a glimpse of RPO back in 2016 on the remix for Matan Caspi – Fragile Sunrise and since then he’s appeared on several of our compilations. With new stuff always on the go we look forward to special collaboration from this guy and some of his friends, something to keep a look out for in the very near future. As ever we’re treated to a sublime progressive slice that takes us deeper into the groove. Tight beats and percussions deliver a strong rhythmic flow while sub level basses shore up the low end. Melodic arpeggios litter the sound creating a very cool dynamic against the deeper elements. This one will not disappoint.
Miami Beach, Florida based Stan Kolev returns to Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Unravel Me. Fresh off the back of remix duties for Gai Barone’s There’s A Lady, Stan racks up his 4th BP slice (not forgetting several quality remixes). As ever, we know we’re in for a real treat when this guy’s work drops into the mailbox. Unravel Me features remixes from top artists Gai Barone, Rick Pier O’Neil and Köschk.
