Foxa Bonzai Progressive

Mario Foksa aka Foxa comes from the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava. He started to listen to electronic music in 1994-95. Aged 14 he changed from being a passive fan of electronic music to actively producing music himself. At first he experimented with classics, such as Impulse Tracker or Fruity Loops. Mario has always been a fan of synthetic sounds and the beauty of piano tones listening avidly to legends such as Kraftwerk, The Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers.

His biggest dream became reality when he was 16, his first keyboard, a Yamaha offering the possibility of beautiful melodic tunes.
Studies and responsibilities took him away for some time from his beloved music but as soon as it was over he decided to stick to his first love and make serious work out of it. After a careful study and research he came to the conclusion that the style he loved best was Trance.

Icons such as Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and the Slovad duo DJ Pico and Antena had a big influence in his choices and put him on his way.

In 2004 he bought his first Technics turntables and later CD-players and he started mixing for the first time. Eventually he moved over to the digital world starting to play on his laptop with midi controllers, keeping his knowledge always up to date about the latest technical developments in this field. Soon enough he started to be interested in other musical styles as well such as Progressive and Elektro.

In 2006-2007 he started to improve his style with Cubase SX and later Ableton Live, which is favourite tool.

His first release “Subotnics” came out through Bonzai’s label Musashi and since then he has appeared on Green Martian, Nemesis, B-Bonzai Trance Progressive and Bonzai Back Catalogue with remixes and original works.

Collaborations with producers such as Michal Jesensky and Allex are some of his future plans.
