Algerian DJ and producer Belmesk Hamza became infatuated with music about 6 years ago when he began listening to some trance classics from Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto and hard trance by Alphazone. He loved trance music and decided to be a part of this community and soon discovered many other artists and DJ’s. One of his biggest influences was DJ Shah (Sunlounger) and tried to do his best to evolve this genre of EDM in Algeria alongside some fellow producers.

After a few years as a trance producer he started to lose his passion and was looking at other genres which would allow him to evolve his talent. Other influences started to filter through, artists like Oliver Shanti, David Arkenstone, Lévon Minassian, Two Steps From Hell, Epic Score, Jeremy Soule and Hans Zimmer. These inspirations give him the ability to bring out his origins within Mediterranean music.

Balearía loves woodwinds, mostly Flutes and Duduk which offers great melodic atmospheres, also the guitar and flamenco vibes, he uses traditional methods such as the ‘lick’ in order to give variations on notes. Hi father is a violinist and this also shaped his love for music in his early years.

Balearia has seen releases on labels like Abora Recordings, Trance Temple Records and Cinesphere Records. Much more to come from this rising talent and now signed with Bonzai we can expect to see some great tracks come our way.
