UK DJ and producer Alex Bradbury marks his Piston debut with the fantastic three track Spektrum EP. Alex plies his trade at various venues in the UK where he takes to the decks alongside fellow DJ’s Josh Taylor and Liam Nuttall. Alex and Josh have hosted some serious parties under their Casa MCR event planning service and in October this year you can catch all three at their latest Manchester based venture where only the finest quality tunes will be on offer. We’re delighted to have this guy on board and we hope to see more from him in the future.
Spektrum dishes out a deep tech house vibe with lush pads and a solid thumping kick drum keeping the pace. Those pads work their magic, mesmerizing us with their warm tones against a backdrop of distant voices. A deep, thick bass pulsates through the track delivering a solid groove while shuffling percussions stack up to bring a cool rhythmic feel. Top notch tunage not to be missed.
Chicago intros with a muted kick that soon gets beefed up with a full on thump while bright crispy hi hats slice through the lower end. A deep teasing sub bass eases its way in before getting unleashed and rattling the bass bins with its powerful sub. The rhythm section is boosted by some tight drums and percussions that will surely get the floors moving. Cool vocals ring out and take you right to the heart of the Chicago sound while surreal synth pads swirl overhead. A real deep and pumping slice of tech house to get any party started.
Underground Is Bangin’ takes the tech house sound to the next level with a contemporary vibe stacked up against a cool classic groove. The tempo rises on this one and turns into a pacey number that the discerning clubber will love. A real cool feature is the urban narrative that runs through the track, this keeps things raw and on point and will no doubt keep any mix interesting. This one goes deep with a solid tech house groove complete with pumping beats and shuffling hats. Superb stuff, a definite must have.
