Hady Tarek is back with his stunning two tracker entitled The Boat Effect. We last saw Hady back in 2014, firstly with his Bonzai debut Night Shift and later on with remixes for Phi Phi & Airwave on Finesse and Crocy feat Croty on Recht. As always he delivered the goods on each occasion and this time around he holds true with a sublime trek into the tech side of progressive.
The Boat Effect intros with a tough punchy kick with sharp distorted hats and claps that lead up to a sub shaking bassline that rolls right through the track and providing the driving force of the sound. The track breaks to reveal a plethora of retro styled synth stabs and chords that give a real edge to the sound bringing it very close to the Techno side. The result is an energetically charged slice of dark matter that you simply must get hold of, not to be missed by any means.
Next up we have Restless which sets off with a big and ballsy kick that pounds out a solid beat alongside rhythmic hats and tight drums and percussions. A deep probing bass swells up from the depths and takes control of the sound while teasing chords fade through. The track breaks and unleashes a very cool array of synths and chords that set the tone for our journey into this darkened world. A nod to the early Techno sounds is evident and sits perfectly in this contemporary construction. A hint of melody seeps through and keeps the track within the progressive realm while retaining its dark roots. A must have track that will definitely spruce up any set.
Since Phi Phi & Airwave got together in the studio they have pumped out some top quality cuts and today is no exception. Finesse comes with three superb remixes and promises to be a firm favourite among many for sure.
First up the Original Mix gets right down to business with a fantastic kick that hits the spot perfectly with its snappy punch. A smooth rolling bass lurks in the background waiting to pounce as the rhythms form up with the help of crispy hats and percussions. The bass comes to the fore as the intensity around the vibe builds taking us to a short break before we settle back into this relentless driving progressive groove, a definite must have.
Athens based DJ and producer John Tsamis returns to remix duty after his debut remix back in July this year on Steve Sai’s Stardust. On the remix John pulls out all the stops and takes the track deep into the progressive abyss. A cool rhythmic percussion pattern and beautifully crafted kicks set the track on course as a lush, deep bass holds up the low end. The break throws up a sublime drum and FX sequence with selection of various instruments bringing contrasts to the almost tribal nature of the sound. Superb stuff yet again from John and one for those darker rooms out there.
Hady Tarek joins the remix roster and comes out all guns blazing with a fantastic punchy kick and sharp hat combo that really gets the track moving. As if that wasn’t enough he ramps things up a gear with a wonderfully balanced bouncing bassline that will get any ass movin’. A short break throws up cool synth riffs with a touch of melodies that will keep your ears trained. Nicely paced grooves and superb arrangements will make this a definite go to tune for many jocks.
Australia’s finest Audio Noir is up next with another of his surreal remixes that always gets those progressive juices flowing. Having just released his first studio album, Almost Famous, which has already been given the remix treatment, we eagerly await some new material as it is always an exciting time. For now we will indulge in Another Audio Noir Trip which intros with a very cool vox pad that grips you immediately. A smooth understated kick gets the track moving as subtle hats and percussions begin to form cool rhythms. The deep rooted basses do a great job shoring up the low end and take on a hypnotic trait that locks you in for the ride. A truly spectacular arrangement that will see a lot of playtime for sure.

Crocy’s Recht gets a full makeover with four fantastic remixes and a Vocal mix. The track was previously featured on Cry back in the Autumn of 2013 in instrumental form. This time around we are treated to the wonderful vocals of Cotry which give the track a beautiful narrative.
First up we get right into the action with the Vocal Mix. Tight drum arrangements sit over subtle percussions that build up a nice flowing rhythmic vibe. In contrast the deep bass transforms from soft and rounded into tough and gritty effortlessly adding a strong dynamic. The tantalising vocal really sets the track off as you find yourself locked in to the sultry grooves, great stuff yet again from Crocy.
Audio Noir just can’t keep away at the moment, the guy is churning out quality cuts and remixes at every turn. Here we have his Sound Of Eve Remix which totally beefs up the original in a big way. A shuffling percussion led intro is soon joined by a nice chunky kick that really gets the track on the move. A lush bass note takes over and oozes progressive house vibes to the backdrop of a tweaked vocal sample. The bassline rumbles through the sound as the layers come together to complete a truly epic slice of prog that is not to be missed.
Hady Tarek returns to Bonzai Progressive on remix duties after his debut Night Shift performed very well indeed. He also recently saw a stint on Bonzai Basik Beats radio show among other things. Here he churns out a top class offering as the intro boasts a cool punchy kick withy rhythmic percussions bringing up the rear. Short chord stabs tease as a very smooth guitar lick in introduced adding an air of Balearia to the groove. The deep bass which powers the track is accompanied by the beautiful vocal from Cotry and takes us to the break where that guitar lick becomes more prominent. Edgy stuff and a definite must for any party this summer.
Jakhira delivers his stunning Undercurrent Remix. Recently we saw Jack on remix duty for Kindred Spirits and Wild Guess as well as his own Princess EP which featured very well on the circuit. Here he strips the groove back to a smooth flowing progressive vibe. Cool, punchy kicks are complimented with a subtle yet very effective percussion line that keeps the rhythm grooving. Deep and lush basses are the order of the day as the track takes us through the paces beautifully. The vocal sits perfectly in the sound as it contrasts the bass wonderfully. The break serves up a very cool melodic sequence as stuttered strings and synths do their work. Excellent stuff that is not to be missed.
Lastly on this superb pack we have a stunning slice from deepAlexander who we last saw on remix duty for Matan Caspi and Chantola as well as his own Midnight Launch. Here the groove takes a laidback approach with smooth flowing rhythms. The intro goes deep with a chunky kick alongside subtle percussion as a bubbling bass lurks in the rear. Sweet melodic flavours filter through and tease throughout as the layers form. On the break deep rooted chords accompany that sultry vocal as the track heads back into the main groove for the duration. Classy stuff that will be a welcome addition to any set.
Hady Tarek launched his DJ career in 2002, when he began arranging his favourite tunes in mix sessions that became very popular among his friends and extended social networks. Due to the popularity of his mixes, he started hosting small parties, where he was enthusiastically received for his track selection skills. After a year of continuous gigs and club nights, he took his mixes to Nile FM, the biggest radio station in Egypt with FM, satellite and online broadcasts. His first appearance in 2004 brought his music to a wider audience and marked the beginning of a regular guest appearance on the station. Many more radioshow spots followed along with an impressive release count across many labels. Here he debuts with his two tracker, ‘Night Shift’.
Kicking us off into a full on progressive stomper we have ‘Night Shift’. Big and burly kicks are accompanied by a tight percussion arrangement as a sweeping synth stabs through. A fantastic arp provides a rhythmic backdrop as a truly deep rooted bass shores up the rear. The break brings the arp to the fore as it modulates against that synth stab and squealing string before slamming back into the main groove, a definite keeper!
‘Robo Ride’ gets the levels rising with a big phat kick and percussion combo including some skilfully placed drums. A sharp stabbing synth is a big feature and leads into a monstrously deep bassline that will have any bass bin quaking. A relentless groove ensues before the break offers up a cool melodic sequence which contrasts well with that deep bass. A hell of a ride into the deeper side of prog and a must for any box.
