Tallinn’s finest are back with their long awaited follow up to The Crown with You Know Why on Bonzai Progressive. November 2013 was their last full release but they have been very busy indeed with remix duties for Phi Phi & Airwave, Ecco, Cordoba and Matan Caspi. The original gets a rework from four of Bonzai’s top remixers to satisfy our progressive addictions.
The Original Mix intros with a cool round of percussions before a nice punchy kick joins the fun as vocal samples come through. A deep and laidback bass provides the perfect platform for the progressive house vibes to flourish here and are matched beautifully with a flowing rhythmic percussion section. Cool housey stabs come through as a more progressive inspired synth makes the rounds. The break reveals a bright melodic string that adds lush tones to the vibe. Top notch effort yet again from Zas and Sanze.
Top Bonzai artist Nico Parisi is up first to remix and what a fine job he does yet again. Nico as usual remains a very busy guy in the studio and on the road gigging. His latest remix for Matan Caspi has been performing very well indeed and his newest track Napoli By Night will no doubt follow suit. Here Nico turns up the progressive dial a few notches with a nice deep grooving track. The original elements are well represented with the bass walking along beautifully as big chunky kicks dominate the sound. The vocal samples come through perfectly and add to the darker tones. On the break we see wonderful contrasts as the strings pitch above the deeper vibe resulting in a must have cut for those late night sessions.
Crocy is next up for his remix and again we see top quality delivery for a top quality artist. Recently we were treated to his own latest cut, a reworking of Recht, as well as remixes for Nico Parisi and Steve Sai. The remix here intros with a nice and bright crispy hat and sharp clap combi with vocal samples coming in. The punchy kicks give way to a brilliantly crafted bassline that filters into a superb grooving house vibe as the synths dish out their subtle melodies. A super tight arrangement with a huge dancefloor appeal that will no doubt feature among many.
Jakhira delivers a top notch remix as you’d expect with his trademark house elements shining through beautifully. Right from the off you know you’re in for a good time as crispy percussions form up a solid rhythmic base. Well rounded, punchy kicks are joined by a groovy chord riff that will get the dancing feet moving easily. A cool plucky bassline keeps the groove flowing brilliantly as the layers continue to build with the addition of classy synth stabs. The break unleashes a fantastic deep bass pad as the synths continue their journey with the addition of some funky keys to shake things up a bit. Superb stuff from this Jakhira as always and no doubt this will feature heavily in many sets.
Rion Oidua rounds off this stunning remix pack with his own stunning cut. Since October 2013 Rion has featured on many remix rosters across various labels within the Bonzai realm, and each time he always surpasses expectations with quality work. This time around we see his progressive traits shine through as the track intros with a classic kick and hat combi that will always get feet moving. A deep and moody synth is joined by cool vocal samples and leads us up to a fantastic stand out plucked bass that just sits perfectly in the track. Cool house vibes come off the synths and pad chords as a smooth string melody eases in. The break lets loose with big stabby synth chords that take the track on a bit of an oldskool tangent with stunning results before settling back into this solid progressive house groove. A definite must have.

Fresh off the back of his last outing Perla with Gai Barone, Nico is back with the wonderful Napoli By Night and comes backed up with three superb remixes. Nico has consistently proven his skills in the studio as his productions continue to deliver that WOW factor. Support is always near when he release and features on top download sites and charts remain constant. Currently enjoying a thriving festival season, Nico appeared for a double stint at Tomorrowland’s double weekender at the Bonzai Stage. Watch this space as much more works are in the pipeline.
The Original Mix intros with a nicely rounded kick and hat classic combi as a stuttering synth fades through with the filters opening teasingly. The track bursts into life with the introduction of a stunning bassline that provides a solid bedrock for this fantastic deep progressive mover. Epic pads sweep across the sound beautifully and pulse with the beat taking us up to the break. Solid progressives grooves from Nico that will no doubt grab a lot of attention.
Chris Harris debuts on Bonzai with his superb remix. Chris has been around the scene for many years having started out as a bass player in 1992. He turned to DJing and played all over the UK with much success. After a short hiatus he returned to the scene and threw himself into production focusing on his love of Progressive Trance, with his first release coming in February 2014 with Lost In The East on Transportal Digital. With a new track of his own on the way we are delighted to have Chris on board. Here he sets the tone for a sublime progressive journey as the track intros with a solid driving beat comprising chunky kicks and a smooth pulsating bassline. Rhythmic percussions are applied beautifully as rising synths take us through the layers. Synth pads burst into life and send us on a euphoric ride as the darker beats keep the groove flowing. Melodies weave in and out of the sound creating a refreshing seam on this outstanding cut, a must have for sure.
Next up we have Jakhira’s Rework which testifies the skills on offer from this hugely talented artist. A very popular choice at Bonzai as proven with his last effort on Crocy’s Recht, Jakhira certainly knows how to get the progressive juices flowing. A nice a smooth intro with percussions leading the way as a deep house chord stabs through. Chunky kicks punch in and the groovy chords begin to weave their magic releasing a purely deep house vibe. The bassline provides the proggy edge to the sound as it cuts a lush swathe through the groove with a little help from beautiful rich pads. The break lets loose with bright melodic sequences to the backdrop of a droning bass as the track builds back up and continuing on its wonderful journey, top notch.
Up next we have Lonely Sun & Nicolas Agudelo on remix duty. The guys recently remixed Alex Vidal – Solar Citadel with much praise coming from many quarters. They are relative newcomers to the Bonzai stable and have already made quite an impression. Deep progressive tones provide the intro with a cool offset bass driving the groove alongside a tight drum arrangement. Melodic flurries cascade throughout in short arp bursts adding smooth textured layers. The break unleashes a euphoric episode as the melodies are enhanced by rich pads leaving you lost in this wonderful slice of prog, top class stuff.
Crocy’s Recht gets a full makeover with four fantastic remixes and a Vocal mix. The track was previously featured on Cry back in the Autumn of 2013 in instrumental form. This time around we are treated to the wonderful vocals of Cotry which give the track a beautiful narrative.
First up we get right into the action with the Vocal Mix. Tight drum arrangements sit over subtle percussions that build up a nice flowing rhythmic vibe. In contrast the deep bass transforms from soft and rounded into tough and gritty effortlessly adding a strong dynamic. The tantalising vocal really sets the track off as you find yourself locked in to the sultry grooves, great stuff yet again from Crocy.
Audio Noir just can’t keep away at the moment, the guy is churning out quality cuts and remixes at every turn. Here we have his Sound Of Eve Remix which totally beefs up the original in a big way. A shuffling percussion led intro is soon joined by a nice chunky kick that really gets the track on the move. A lush bass note takes over and oozes progressive house vibes to the backdrop of a tweaked vocal sample. The bassline rumbles through the sound as the layers come together to complete a truly epic slice of prog that is not to be missed.
Hady Tarek returns to Bonzai Progressive on remix duties after his debut Night Shift performed very well indeed. He also recently saw a stint on Bonzai Basik Beats radio show among other things. Here he churns out a top class offering as the intro boasts a cool punchy kick withy rhythmic percussions bringing up the rear. Short chord stabs tease as a very smooth guitar lick in introduced adding an air of Balearia to the groove. The deep bass which powers the track is accompanied by the beautiful vocal from Cotry and takes us to the break where that guitar lick becomes more prominent. Edgy stuff and a definite must for any party this summer.
Jakhira delivers his stunning Undercurrent Remix. Recently we saw Jack on remix duty for Kindred Spirits and Wild Guess as well as his own Princess EP which featured very well on the circuit. Here he strips the groove back to a smooth flowing progressive vibe. Cool, punchy kicks are complimented with a subtle yet very effective percussion line that keeps the rhythm grooving. Deep and lush basses are the order of the day as the track takes us through the paces beautifully. The vocal sits perfectly in the sound as it contrasts the bass wonderfully. The break serves up a very cool melodic sequence as stuttered strings and synths do their work. Excellent stuff that is not to be missed.
Lastly on this superb pack we have a stunning slice from deepAlexander who we last saw on remix duty for Matan Caspi and Chantola as well as his own Midnight Launch. Here the groove takes a laidback approach with smooth flowing rhythms. The intro goes deep with a chunky kick alongside subtle percussion as a bubbling bass lurks in the rear. Sweet melodic flavours filter through and tease throughout as the layers form. On the break deep rooted chords accompany that sultry vocal as the track heads back into the main groove for the duration. Classy stuff that will be a welcome addition to any set.
Jakhira steps up to the DJ booth for his guest mix on Bonzai Basik Beats with a smooth progressive set that will set any party off. Jakhira saw good support on his last Bonzai release ‘Princess EP’. On the break we see a sweet melodic piano take centre stage before crashing right back into this powerful mover. The track is driven by those wonderful basses that truly defines the characteristics of this duo as they deliver another top notch progressive house joint.
Jakhira’s Night-Time Setting mix is up next and again we see the quality of production dripping with purely progressive flavours. Nice and punchy clubby kicks are joined by tight percussion patterns that provide a solid rhythmic base. Beautifully sequenced melodies are big feature and sit perfectly with the groovy bassline. The break is a journey in itself as pads and strings combine with a sweet melodic piece before building back into this full on prog house slice. A definite must and not to be missed!
Belgium based DJ’s J.E.O.F., Config and P.O.W. make up Wild Guess. In the summer months of 2012 J.E.O.F. and Config decided to team together as the DJ duo Guess What?. A guest appearance in Culture Club and playing out at Houseworx parties in Ghent and Bruges rapidly got them noticed and became more popular in the region. As time passed by, they were looking forward to start producing their own tracks as well. Near the end of 2012, their producing career took a critical step forward when P.O.W, who had previous experience in producing, was eager to join the team. The result is this debut on Green Martian with ‘Nebulae’ which comes backed up with a superb remix.
The Original Mix intros with a nice chunky kick as an expertly crafted arp weaves its patterns and comes in to the fore. Smooth and silky strings sit in the background and add a cool tension to the sound. The bass comes at you in big phat chunks that give a real boost to the vibe and forcing you to move. A massive swaying synth soon takes control of the sound and on the break they are joined by a classy guitar lick before slamming right back into the main groove to round off a huge prog stomper.
Jack Jakhira is a regular contributor to the Bonzai network as both a remix artist and with his own material which we will be hoping to see more of soon. Here he gives us his Dusty Recreation which stays true to the original and delivers a stunning progressive vibe. Well rounded kicks get going with a tight percussive rhythm section leading up to a powerful grungy bass. Warm synths come through as the track heats up and we settle into a strong and solid groove.
